How does it work? The foundation for treating frontal and lateral lisps using The Entire World of S & Z™ approach is the "exploded /t/." I’ve found that /ts/ is a very helpful tool to elicit /s/. There are some good materials available that already covers /ts/. However, once my students mastered /ts/, I was always at a loss, scrambling to find more advanced materials for practice. Another problem I encountered while working on /s/ is that students will often devoice /z/ after learning /s/. This is relatively easy to remediate. But once again I had to scramble to find appropriate /z/ materials.

Finally, many other products are superficial in their treatment of /s/. The phoneme /s/ is treated only in initial, medial, and final positions. However, jumping into the sounds without establishing proper placement and production is a recipe for frustration. Targeting in on the right sounds and using approximate production assists, such as /ts/ are the keys for rapid and effective therapy.

In fact, I’ve found that /s/ and /z/ are relatively easy to remediate if presented with a good strategy and appropriate materials in concise and easy to use form. I hope you’ll agree once you've had a chance to use some of the products below.
