Sample Activities
Visual and Tactile Learning in 5 minutes or less. 

When do holidays occur?  Ask students what month or season it is or what holiday is coming up (or just passed). Instruct the student to dial in the holiday. Discuss the month, what month and holidays just happened recently and what is coming up next. 
What is the seasonal weather like?  Instruct the student to dial in the current month on the wheel. Discuss the weather shown in the season block. 
  • How is what's shown similar to what the student observes? How is it different? 
  • How is the weather in your area different than a four season climate? 
  • What changes are occurring currently because of the seasonal change? 
  • How will the weather change in the next month?
Introduce holiday/seasonal  vocabulary words  Instruct the student to dial in the current month/holiday. Create a list of words associated with the holiday/season that is age appropriate. Instruct the student to use the wheel pictures for clues. |

For example: When does one go sledding?
  • What holidays/seasons is associated with sledding?
  • Discuss when you might go sledding? Why wouldn't you go sledding for Father's Day?  
  • What are the attributes of sledding?
  • Name another activity similar to sledding?
Basic Colors Instruct the student to dial in the current month/holiday.

What colors are associated with that holiday/season? Why is February red? Why is March green?
